In no mood to hear a bunch of buzzing vuvu-whatevers, Gunn was in his room trying to find something else to watch on TV.
Since it was Sunday afternoon he was failing in finding anything interesting.
And since there were no distractions, that was leading Gunn to think of things back home. And while he could give his sister a call, he wasn't in the mood to hear just how wonderful things were back home.
So instead he was abusing the tv remote in the vague hope that something better than soccer was on.
Gunn had not been out to see his truck since his "lawyers" had sent it to Fandom at the beginning of the semester. Quite frankly he wasn't even sure if he could even get to his truck after the first time he tried to leave the island.
However he didn't reappear at a random spot with the first step he took on the causeway. Same thing with the second, third and so forth.
He could help but grin when he saw his old truck. The weapons had been taken off but the mounts were still in place and someone had even given the engine a tune up and oil change before sending it here.
"Well, hell," he muttered to himself as he climbed into the cab of the truck. "I've made it this far..."
The engine roared to life and a few minutes later Gunn was heading westward.
It wasn't the fact that Gunn was just a thief or anything. It's just that he was hungry. And broke.
Mostly hungry though.
So when the hunger pangs struck at the local Quick Stop, Gunn looked around the convenience store and proceed to put a five finger discount on the Hostess snack cake known as "Ding Dongs."
And no it wasn't for the chocolate coating or the devil's food cake. It was all about the creamy center.
So between Gunn's hunger pains and the thoughts about a delicious creamy center, he didn't notice that a certain member of the Fandom Police Department had arrived and was now shoving a DC-15 Rifle in his face.
"You've got to be kidding me," Gunn grumbled and rolled his eyes as he he assumed the position. "You're arresting me for a Ding Dong?"
Ralph however wasn't much for talking. In fact he was more enthused about finally getting to arrest someone.
"Hey man," Gunn shouted at the clerk as he was pulled out the door. "You watching this? Police brutality man. And what the fuck is up with the armor?"
The clerk (Who wasn't supposed to be there today) ignored the whole scene and settled down behind the counter so he could go back to reading porn.
Ann arrest going on in his store? The clerk had seen stranger stuff.
It was a bright and early morning and Gunn had awoken for the day refreshed and ready to take on the world.
Yeah, right.
Gunn was still in bed sleeping in as long as he could before he'd finally drag himself out of bed in anticipation of free food somewhere in a common room.
Unfortunately for Gunn, plans changed as a small green creature crawled through the heating duct and decided that the young man in bed needed to be bitten.
"My goodness!" Tim Gunn shouted as he hopped out of bed. "I have never had such a rude awakening before."
Tim looked down at the small green thing and wagged a finger at him. "I'm severely disappointed in your wake up call. And I have to say this is the worst hotel I've ever slept in. Now run along, I have things I need to get done"
The gremlin looked at his victim and shrugged as Tim now went to look at his closet and frowned.
"Hoodie sweatshirts? Oh my. What was I thinking last night. I must have been high to pick this outfit out. Oh no. This won't do at all."
Truly Fandom was going to have a very fashionable day today.
Yes, the weather was crappy out. Yes, Gunn had been told there were no vampires to hunt.
However old habits died hard and Gunn had spent the evening patrolling the island looking for something possibly evil. Other than small furry cute things that squealed and... well that's all they did really.
So it was a disappointed Gunn who was returning to the dorms only to find the weather had changed.
The slice of strawberry rhubarb hit him first. Followed by blueberry. And then apple. Ala mode.
"Seriously. Pie? It's raining pie?"
Just then a whole pecan pie fell right into his hands. Gunn shrugged. "Hell with it. Free pie."
Gunn's mind would probably change once he realized what the pie rain had caused.
[IDK. Seemed to me Gunn would like a rain of pie. Going to bed because LJ was a whore for being down so long. So NFI. NYAH.]
Gunn had forgotten where exactly he had left his phone charger last week so when he was finally able to check his messages, well...
Well first someone seemed to think he was a sandwich shop while another thought his name was "Jack".
Then things got a little disturbing with someone asking him for help in dressing sexier and the other message was from Claire and... okay who did she think she was? Christina Aguilera?
"Whole damn dorm must been bitten by Gremlins," Gunn muttered as he started to clear off his voice mail.
[Just a post as I was AFK all day yesterday. Also post and door are open.]
Gunn frowned as he got off the phone with his sister. Everything back home seemed to be going well. Alonna was adjusting well to her new school. Reports from the neighborhood said that the vampires had cleared out and haven't been seen since. As for his old crew, the lawyer guy was keeping his promise. Some were now going back to school, others were either getting a GED or job training and some... well some really couldn't be helped with those.
But for the most part it sounded like everything was getting back home, just like he was promised.
And for some reason that bugged Gunn more than anything else he had run into on the island.
Pushing nagging doubts and such to the side, Gunn opened up one of the year books in front of him to continue his research of creatures that had invaded the island over the past few years.
As far as Gunn was concerned, that was the breaking point. He went back to his room, left a message for his sib grabbed as much as he could in a few minutes and headed to the causeway.
And so Gunn walked across the causeway, relieved to be able to leave the weirdness behind him.
After a long afternoon at the picnic and freezing his #@$* ass off, Gunn was more than happy to put his shirt, hoodie and coat back on and head back to his room.
Gunn stood looking at the picnic with a wary eye. When the lawyer-muckity-mucks had told him that he would be going to a private school, he had assumed that everyone around him would be dressed in blazers with a big ass patch denoting their heritage and how white and rich they are.
This... This was not what he was expecting.
He absent-mindedly slapped his nametag on his coat and looked around at the students and teachers and wondered just what kind of place this was.
Sitting in the interrogation room, Gunn pulled on the links of his restraints that connected his wrists to the table in front of him.
"Y'know I'm not going anywhere," Gunn called out to whoever was hiding behind the one way mirror. "Would it kill you to give me a little blood circulation? Something to drink? Oh yeah... and maybe the lawyer that I asked for several hours ago?"
